Back-to-School Hair Care

July 29 2020

Although back to school will look a lot different this year, we still want kids to be excited about jumping back into learning! An end of summer hair appointment can help kids look and feel their best for their first day of school! Continue reading to discover some of our favorite tips for back-to-school hair care.

Get a Trim

Getting a hair trim is a great way to revitalize your child's hair after spending months swimming and being out in the sun. It is often best to avoid a drastic hairstyle change right before school starts, if your child doesn't like the style it may make them more self-conscious when school begins. Only getting a trim doesn't mean they can't express themselves through their hair, though, express your child's evolving personality with new hair accessories such as barrettes, bows, and metallic cuffs! If your child is really looking forward to a change in hairstyle, encourage them to choose one that is versatile and can be styled many different ways.

Hydrate

Sun, heat, humidity, and other environments our kids are in during the summer can cause a lot of damage to our kids' hair. While a trim can help eliminate dead ends, the summer months are hard on hair's overall health, a nourishing hydration treatment can help add moisture and strength back into your child's strands.

Maintenance

Once your child is back-to-school ready after a deep conditioning treatment and a trim or cut, maintaining their hair health can be a lot easier! Spritz the hair and scalp each night with a moisturizing spray to keep strands from drying out and help promote hair health. Using a satin pillowcase or bonnet for sleeping will also help keep your child's hairstyle looking brand new between washes!
